Maximizing Human Capital: Ensuring High Growth & Achieving High Performance

Our Founder-CEO & Superintendent Dr. Nathan Balasubramanian (Dr. B) is a scholar-practitioner. He serves as the Chief Education Officer of 7CsThrive. He is also the Chief Academic Officer of 7Cs Academy. He knows and understands the value of whole child education. He is determined to make whole child education accessible and available to every child. The 'Triangle Model' and the Performance Excellence App are a few of his many innovations. Dr. B believes we have a lot of compelling evidence (data) on student learning to improve public education. Yet, the current reality is that the data ‘baby’ is thrown out with plenty of actionable ‘bath water.’ He is on a mission to stop this ‘data” waste and transform public education with actionable ‘knowledge’ guided by his vision of data analytics.

Most recently, Dr. B served as the Executive Director of School Improvement and Accountability at Manor Independent School District in Texas until November 2019. He led continuous improvement efforts at the District to move the letter grade of the District from a “D” (69% in 2018) to a “B” (85% in 2019) this past year. This was a huge factor in the community passing a $280 million bond in November 2019.

Prior to joining the Manor ISD team in November 2017, Dr. B served in the rank of Assistant Superintendent at Broward County Public Schools as their founding Executive Director of Strategy and Continuous Improvement for five years. He successfully spearheaded efforts to increase student success every year at the 6th largest school district in the nation. 4-year graduation rate (81%), AP passing rate (51%), and student outcomes measured by Level 3 achievement in 17 of 22 Florida’s tested areas (77%) were the highest in the District’s history. During his tenure, the district also successfully passed their first bond in almost thirty years, for $800 million, in 2014.

Dr. B holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership and Innovation from the University of Colorado (USA), a master’s in educational management from the University of Sheffield (UK), and a master’s in physics from the University of Madras (India). He is a trained curriculum auditor and a TEA Authorized Provider (2020-2-10-AP44) for evaluating and improving student outcomes. See his one-page Résumé
